Trenčín Foundation is a community foundation. It was founded in 2000 by a group of enthousiastic citizens – personalities, that believed, that it is natural for people to help each other and cooperate in solving common problems.
We are also a regional foundation and so we operate mostly in the region of Trenčín. Thanks to intimate knowledge of the local area, we can promptly react, solve local problems, lend a helping hand or support good ideas. We also react to the needs of the community by our own and short-term projects.
We have created a functioning grant-making program and until 2010, we supported 238 community projects in the amount of 91 855 €. Through this program and our projects, we cooperate with NGOs, informal groups of citizens and other subjects active in the public sphere.
Together with partners, we have created 15 foundation funds, through which we supported 247 projects implemented throughout the region and even the country, in the amount of 343 093 €.
With the funds that we gain, we support projects aimed at the youth’s free time, education, help to the handicapped, culture and sport, support of traditions, neighborhood activities, improvement of the environment and other areas. We also act as an intermediary for individual donations for handicapped citizens, NGOs or culture related projects.
