Let´s not forget the animals or the smile

The World Animal Day is celebrated on 4th October. It was celebrated for the first time in Florence during a meeting of ecologists in 1931. Why 4th October? Well, it falls on the feast day of the Saint Francis of Assisi, who was a great lover of animals and is the patron saint of animals and ecologists.

And the World Smile Day? It has been celebrated since 1999. It was initiated in 1963 by Harvey Richard Ball, the creator of the smiley face, a symbol of happiness and good will. This day is intended for good deeds, good humor, and for understanding the power of the smile, which makes our days nicer.

And so, let us all go to the Bojnice Zoo for one more joyful meeting of children, animals and clowns.
